An affiliate of of the Erie Diocese Catholic Charities and United Way of Mercer County organizations, we continue to seek your support to aid our neighbors in need as they restore their lives.

Founded in 1983 by Sister Benita Repasky, Prince of Peace Center is a non-profit social service agency in Farrell, PA that is dedicated to strengthening families, building community, and reducing poverty throughout Mercer County. In 1993, Sister Clare Marie Beichner, SSJ, was named as the Center's second executive director, a post she held during the next twelve years.

Prince of Peace offers a variety of emergency and family supportive services that help to strengthen families through the use of an individualized, holistic approach. In addition to these services, which include HOPE Advocacy, Project RUTH, and other forms of emergency assistance, the Center hosts a twice-weekly soup kitchen and food distribution. Its thrift store provides free and low-cost clothes, house wares, and other items to those in need.

Former Development and Volunteer Director Joe Flecher was selected to follow Sr. Clare Marie to become the third director at the agency, effective June 1, 2005. He leads a staff of employees, community service workers, and volunteers aged 8 to 88. The Center is overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of men and women from businesses, churches, and other organizations throughout the Shenango Valley.

The Prince of Peace Center is an affiliate of the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie, a network of offices, agencies, and institutions that offer services and programs for those in need throughout the diocese. Prince of Peace is also affiliated with the United Way of Mercer County, and it works closely with a variety of local businesses and other social service providers in order to carry out its mission.

The Center is located at 502 Darr Avenue in Farrell, PA. Its operating hours are:
