DONATING TO THE THRIFT STORE
DONATING OTHER ITEMS TO THE CENTER
MAKING A MONETARY CONTRIBUTION
The Thrift Store functions as a "mission" that typically donate more than 70% of the items to those in need. Thus, this program always welcomes donations from members of the community. The store gladly accepts:
~ men's, women's, and children's clothing
~ bed linens, drapes, curtains, and blankets
~ towels, washcloths, and dishtowels
~ kitchen appliances, pots & pans, dishes, and cups
~ televisions, VCR's, DVD players, and stereos
~ baskets and picture frames
~ furniture
~ children's toys and stuffed animals
~ books and board games
When making a donation, please do the following:
~ if possible, neatly fold linens, towels, and clothing
~ ensure that electronic appliances are still in working order
~ drop off items only when the Center is open ( 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday). Unfortunately, donations left at the Center during non-business hours are too often ruined by inclement weather or destroyed by persons visiting the Center during
weekend and evening hours.
~ use the loading dock on the building's south side
~ inform staff that you are making a donation
~ receive a receipt confirming that your donation is tax-deductible
If you wish to donate furniture and similar larger items, but cannot transport them to the Center, please call 724-346-5777 for information about having the Center pick it up. Beginning during 2006, we have requested the donor to also
make a $10 donation for this service to offset costs of the gasoline and related truck expenses.

DONATING OTHER ITEMS

The Center also welcomes donations of:
~ school supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, notebooks, rulers)

These items are used for the Center's seasonal special

You can also donate to the Center online through the Network For Good web site. Clicking the image beneath this paragraph will take you to their site. After entering your e-mail address and a password of your choice, you will be taken to a safe, secure page where you can donate to Prince of Peace Center using any major credit card.
When you donate online, the name Network for Good will appear on your credit card statement, but rest assured that your donation goes directly to the Prince of Peace Center. Network for Good merely facilitates the transaction.
